Editing a live Dez page after it's published

How to reopen a live Dez page in Dez to keep editing it, and what to know about rebuilt pages and drafts.

✏️ Keep Editing a Page After It's Live

Once a page is live, you don't have to start from scratch to change it. On a product's tile or page in the product editor, look for an Edit with Dez button. It opens that page's newest draft in Dez so you can carry on editing.

Edit with Dez is available on all 10 product types that can have a Dez page.

🧩 If There's No Saved Draft

If the live page doesn't have a saved draft, Edit with Dez rebuilds one from the page's stored HTML. The text, images and order stay the same, with each section turned into a custom layout.

On a rebuilt page, the brand colour and font pickers won't change the page's colours, since they're baked into the HTML. You can still ask Dez to edit the page using Ask Dez.

Type it yourself also looks a bit different on a rebuilt page: instead of named fields, you'll see one box per piece of text, since each section is a custom layout.

🔒 Pages That Can't Be Edited This Way

Edit with Dez only appears on pages that were built with Dez. If you uploaded your own HTML page, this button won't show up.

Very old Dez pages stored as a JPEG also won't have an Edit with Dez button, since there's no HTML to rebuild from.

⚠️ Before You Open Dez

Save any changes in the editor first. Edit with Dez opens the page in Dez in the same tab, so unsaved editor changes could be lost.

Edit with Dez opens the newest draft, which may include changes that aren't live yet. Buyers won't see those changes until you press Add to the product again.

If you have the page open in two tabs or browser windows, the last one you save in is the version that's kept.
