How To: Create Guides

Add Value to Your Platform by Creating Guides.

Updated over a week ago

Offering guides alongside your on-demand classes can be a brilliant way to add value to your platform, but it can be pretty daunting to know where to start. This how-to shows you the steps to make, create and publish your first guide.

Here's what to do:

1] What?

First up, decide what kind of guide you want to create - our top three recommendations are:

  • regular guides [i.e quite copy-heavy, exploring a topic in more depth]

  • plans [i.e weekly workouts or meal plans - depending on the type of content you share regularly]

  • food based [i.e an ebook style recipe book or meal plan to accompany your fitness videos]

From there, you can start writing the content/recipes/plans to input into a design…which is where we can come in!

2] Design

Once you’ve gathered and written your content, we want to get into a format that’s most useful for your members. We’ve put together three different designs.

Design 1: minimalist

Design 2: colourful

Design 3: food

3] Edit

Once you’ve chosen your design template, it’s time to make it your own. Change up the colours to suit your branding/style if you like and add your own images to make it more personable.

You can also embed URL's to your pdf. For example, this is useful if you want to add links to recipes of workouts on your FitWith page.

  1. Select and highlight the text or image you'd like to link.

  2. Select the 3 dots and choose the link icon.

  3. In the pop-out box enter the url and hit enter.

  4. When you export your guide as a pdf. the links will stay live and interactive.

You can find out more about using Canva in our how-to here.

4] Export and upload

Once you’ve finished inputting your copy/images/colours. Download your guide as a pdf. then head to your FitWith profile and upload it to your channel.

You can find out more about uploading content [including guides] in our how-to here.
