Two settings steer what Margo creates: your Goal (what you want content to do) and your content pillars (the themes your content rotates through).
Your goal
Your goal is the outcome you want from your content. You choose it once and can change it anytime in Settings.
Grow means you want to reach more people and build your audience. Margo focuses on teaching content, stories, and things that spark conversation. Posts about your methods, lessons learned, and wins get heavier rotation.
Sell means you want your posts to drive revenue. Margo creates more customer wins, case studies, and posts that showcase what you offer. Offers are still held back for your approval before posting.
Both means you want a balance. Margo mixes audience-building and sales-focused posts throughout your week.
You can flip your goal week to week if your priority changes. Plan my week will generate a different week if you switch, because the mix of content changes based on your goal.
Content pillars
Content pillars are the handful of recurring themes your content rotates through. Think of them as the topics you always come back to. The built-in pillars are:
Your Story - Where you came from and what you have learned along the way.
Hot Takes - The myths and mistakes in your space you will call out.
Teach Your Craft - The how-to: your frameworks, steps, and best tips.
Behind the Scenes - Your day, your routine, and the tools you use.
Wins and Proof - Results, numbers, and client wins that build trust.
Build in Public - What you are working on right now, shared in the open.
When you plan your week, Margo rotates through these pillars so each day feels like a different angle, not a random pile of posts. This makes your week look intentional and planned.
How they work together
If your goal is "Grow", Margo weights Your Story and Teach Your Craft heavier. If your goal is "Sell", it emphasises Wins and Proof. Each pillar gets a different emphasis depending on what you are trying to achieve.
When Margo generates ideas or plans your week, every post is tagged with a pillar so you can see at a glance what angle it takes.
If the mix is not right
Pillars are assigned by Margo rather than picked by you, so the way to change the balance is to change your Goal in Settings and plan the week again.
If a specific post is on the wrong theme, open it and use "Not quite right", then choose "Wrong thing to post" and say what it should have been about. Margo rewrites that post and remembers your steer for everything it writes afterwards.
All creators use the same six pillars.
