Managing Community Join Requests in Customers

Learn how to review, filter, approve, or decline pending community join requests from the Requests tab.

📋 Where to Find Join Requests

When at least one of your communities has Approve new members turned on, or when someone is waiting for approval, a Requests tab appears in Customers, between Customers and Affiliates.

If nobody is waiting, the Requests tab shows an empty state.

A pending count badge shows on the Requests tab, on Customers in the desktop sidebar, and on More (and the Customers row inside More) on phones. The badge is hidden when the count is 0.

🔍 Filtering and Searching Requests

  1. Open Customers, then go to the Requests tab.

  2. Filter the list by community to see requests for a specific community.

  3. Search by name or email to find a specific person.

  4. Each request shows how long the person has been waiting. Pending requests, including paid ones, don't expire on their own.

✅ Approving or Declining Requests

  1. Select a single request, or select a bulk selection of up to 100 at once.

  2. Choose to approve or decline.

  3. If you decline, you can add a note up to 300 characters. The dialog prefills a default decline message that you can edit before sending, or you can leave the note out entirely.

If someone is declined, they can request to join again right away. There's no cooldown period before they can try again.

đŸšȘ Requests That Skip This Process

Members who join through a grant from another product, or who you add manually, skip approval entirely. They are never marked as pending and won't appear in the Requests tab.

If you get stuck, message us from the chat bubble and we will help.
