📎 Adding Source Material for Otto to Draft From

Learn how to attach notes or files so Otto can draft a grounded product from your own material.

📎 What you can attach

You can give Otto your own material to draft a product from. Paste notes directly into the chat, or attach TXT, MD, DOCX, text PDF, SRT or VTT files.

You can attach up to 3 files per chat. Each file must be under 5 MB, and all files together must stay under 10 MB. Otto can read up to 24,000 extracted characters of material per chat.

đŸš« What Otto can't read

Otto cannot OCR scanned documents or transcribe audio from source files. If you attach a file Otto can't read, it will tell you and suggest trying a shorter text excerpt instead.

✅ How Otto uses your material

  1. Paste your notes or attach your files in the chat.

  2. Ask Otto to draft your product from this material.

  3. When Otto drafts the product, it shows you the supporting excerpts from your material that it used, and tells you whether the draft is grounded in what you supplied.

đŸ§© If Otto needs more from you

If Otto doesn't have enough material to draft your product, it will tell you exactly what details are missing. Add those details in the chat, then ask Otto for a new proposal.

If a draft can't be grounded in your supplied material, Otto won't publish an ungrounded draft. Instead, it tells you to add the missing details and ask for a new proposal.

If you get stuck, message us from the chat bubble and we will help.
