Goal: Turn your outline into draft content.
“AI isn’t the work. It’s the mirror. What you see in it depends on how clearly you understand what you’re trying to say.”
Quote made up by ChatGPT
This is the part where many creators stall. They have an idea but then they’re confronted by a blank page and nothing happens.
That barrier doesn’t need to exist because you have tools that can take the raw ingredients of your thinking and help you shape them into something useful at speed.
That tool is AI. Here’s a simple guide on getting it to work for you.
Step 1: Turn your idea into a clear outline
You already have your audience, your brand and you’ve chosen your product idea. Now it’s time to shape that into a structure your audience can follow.
Here’s how:
Prompt to use:
"Act as an expert [your field] coach. I want to create a short digital product that helps [your audience] achieve [your outcome]. Suggest a clear outline with 3 to 5 sections that would help them do that."
For example:
"Act as an expert productivity coach. I want to create a short guide that helps new freelancers stop procrastinating and focus better. Suggest a 3-5-part outline."
You’ll get something useful or, at least, something you can react to. That’s the point.
AI doesn’t always give you the final answer - it’s the catalyst for better thinking and better outcomes.
Step 2: Fill in your outline with rough drafts
Once you’ve got your sections, let’s turn each one into content.
Prompt to use:
“Using the outline below, write a draft of my [type of product] for [your audience] in a tone that’s [3 words that describe your voice - eg friendly, bold, honest].
Use simple language and clear examples.
Make it sound like I’m speaking directly to [who your content is for - eg ‘a first-time founder’, ‘an overwhelmed new mum’, ‘someone who’s just getting started’].”
Example:
“Using the outline below, write a draft of my meal prep guide for busy mums in a tone that’s friendly, non-judgmental and practical.
Make it sound like I’m speaking directly to someone who’s never meal prepped before and feels intimidated by the idea.”
Go one section at a time. Ask it to expand, refine, simplify - whatever you need. We’d advise against copy and pasting everything. The goal is to co-create, tweak, personalise and add your voice. You’re collaborating with a partner that helps you express it better rather than outsourcing your thinking.
The goal today:
Use the prompts above to generate a rough outline for your digital product.
Expand each section into a rough draft using AI.
Edit the drafts in your own words, voice and style.
That’s it.
You’re now well on your way to a product people can learn from and pay for.
