📧 Email Marketing Trigger Types, Including Follow-Ups for Identified Visitors

Learn which triggers can start your automated email sequences, how to set one up, send a test and check how your emails are doing.

📧 Email Marketing Trigger Types on WithMe

With Email Marketing, you can send broadcasts and set up sequences that send automatically when something happens. The event that starts a sequence is called its trigger. 🎯

🔄 Available Trigger Types

When you set up a sequence, you pick its trigger from the trigger type dropdown. In your list of emails, the Trigger column shows which one each email uses:

  • Purchase: sends after someone buys from you

  • Cart Abandonment: sends after someone abandons their cart

  • Lead Capture: sends after a lead is captured

  • Coaching Application: sends after someone applies for coaching

  • Scheduled Time: sends at a scheduled time

The trigger dropdown also has a trigger for after a visitor is identified. Use it to follow up automatically with people once they have been identified. 👀

🛠️ How to Set Up a Sequence

  1. On desktop, click Email Marketing in the sidebar if you see it there. On a phone, tap More > Email Marketing.

  2. Find your sequences under the Sequences tab, or Broadcasts & Sequences, depending on what your screen shows, and start a new sequence.

  3. Give your sequence a name, then choose its trigger.

  4. Choose the products it applies to, for example All Courses or All Digital Products.

  5. Write your emails. Each email can wait a set time after the trigger, or after the previous email.

  6. Check everything on the review step, then save your sequence.

📬 How to Check Who Received Your Emails

When you open an email from your list, cards show its Recipients, Sent, Open Rate and Click Rate. This is the quickest way to confirm your emails are going out. ✅

🧾 Purchase Confirmation Emails

You do not need to build a sequence to confirm an order. When a customer buys a digital product, they automatically get a confirmation email with your name, their order details and any relevant access links. There is nothing to set up.

💡 Tips & Troubleshooting

Want to test a sequence? Use Send test sequence. All your active emails are sent now, one after another, in order, and the delays between them are skipped.

Tests go to the email address on your account, with [TEST] at the start of the subject. Your customers won't receive anything, and your stats won't change.

Changed an email but not saved it yet? The test uses its last saved version, so save first to include your changes.

Writing a broadcast? Click Personalize to personalise your email. Using the customer's name when possible can increase engagement.

Want to follow up with leads who have not bought yet? When you create a broadcast, the Send To menu lets you choose who gets it, such as All Customers. If you also see Sales Agent Leads (Non-Customers) there, pick it to email those leads.

If you get stuck, message us from the chat bubble and we will help.
