How to Migrate Your Community to WithMe

Moving a community from another platform to WithMe? Three ways to bring your members over: share a link, import a CSV, or use the free migration with the yearly subscription.

How to Migrate Your Community to WithMe

Moving your community to WithMe is straightforward. You have three options, depending on how you want to bring your members in:

  1. Share a community link. Invite your members to join directly.

  2. Import members via CSV. We do the import for you.

  3. Free migration with the yearly subscription. We move your members, courses and files for you.

Community comments, likes and member history do not move with any of these options. Your members start fresh in your new WithMe community.

Option 1: Share your community link

This is the fastest way to get your existing members into WithMe.

  1. Create your community.

  2. Copy your community link.

    • Once your community is created, click the Copy Link button.

  3. Share it with your members.

    • Post the link in your existing group or send it directly to your members.

    • Ask them to join your new WithMe community.

Pro Tip: If your community is paid, you can set it to free temporarily while your existing members join. Once everyone has moved, update the price and add a paywall before you promote it to new members.

Paying members on your old platform: card details cannot be moved between platforms, because your old platform's payment system holds them. Keep your old platform running until your members have moved, and send them one link to restart their subscription on WithMe before the old platform charges them again.

Option 2: Import members via CSV

If you have a CSV of member names and emails, contact support to arrange the import. Identify the destination community and the access your members should receive.

The team will confirm the import scope and provide the access instructions for your members. Review the result in Customers before sharing those instructions. Do not assume that a CSV import transfers existing card details or starts subscriptions.

Option 3: Free migration with the yearly subscription

If you are on the yearly subscription, the migration is free: a small WithMe team moves your members' names and emails, their access to the right courses, and your courses and files, by hand, and checks the result before you see it. The free migration covers up to 10 GB of files. Bigger libraries are quoted first, and you pay nothing unless you agree. It is not part of the monthly subscription.

Your old community stays live until you approve the new one. For paying members, we keep their access free until their next billing date, and you send them one link to restart their subscription on WithMe. We give you the email to send.

See Free migration with the yearly subscription for what moves and what does not, or ask for a free migration check at switch.withme.so/switch. No card needed.

If you would rather have a hub built for you, that is our paid Done For You service, which is separate from the free migration: Done For You Service.

Which option should I choose?

  • Use Option 1 (community link) if you want members to sign up themselves.

  • Use Option 2 (CSV import) if you already have a large member list and want us to import it in bulk.

  • Use Option 3 (free migration) if you are on the yearly subscription and want WithMe to move your members, courses and files for you.
