💳 How to Disconnect and Reconnect Your Stripe Account

How to disconnect an old Stripe account from WithMe, connect a new one, and resolve country or address mismatches that may block payouts.

Before You Disconnect

Disconnecting your account removes its active connection from WithMe, but it does not delete your underlying ledger on Stripe. Here is what to keep in mind before modifying your configuration:

  • Any pending financial payouts should still process normally to your currently associated bank infrastructure.

  • Your historical WithMe earnings data summaries and transaction logs are not affected.

  • You can connect an alternative Stripe processing gateway immediately after finishing the disconnection sequence.


How to Disconnect Your Stripe Account

If you need to switch accounts or reset your transaction connection, you can initiate a disconnection directly through your dashboard banner:

  1. Navigate to the left-hand sidebar menu options and click on Payouts.

  2. Scroll to the bottom footer area of your main tracking layout screen.

  3. Locate the alert text banner reading: "Need to reset your Stripe account? You can disconnect your current account and set it up again by clicking here."

  4. Click the blue hyperlinked clicking here text string.

  5. An interface modal popup prompt will appear at the top center of your web browser asking: "Are you sure you want to reset your Stripe account? This will disconnect your current account and you will need to set it up again."

  6. Click OK to confirm and break the system link.


How to Connect a New Stripe Account

Once disconnected, your dashboard returns to an unlinked status, allowing you to establish a fresh financial pipeline:

  1. On the reset Payouts dashboard workspace screen, click the prominent blue Connect Bank Account button.

  2. The interface will automatically redirect you outward to the official secure Sign in to Express configuration pipeline page.

  3. Enter your active email address, click Continue, and follow the on-screen steps to provide your local business parameters, identity verification details, and direct banking transit numbers.

  4. Upon successful validation, Stripe will return you back to your WithMe operational layout with your updated payout configuration fully connected.

💡 Pro Tip: If you need to step away or gather documentation during Stripe's validation flow, your progress is tracked automatically. You can seamlessly resume your configuration sequence at any time by clicking the connection button on your Payouts dashboard page again.


Fixing a Country or Address Mismatch

Stripe strictly prohibits modifying your merchant registration country once an individual account has been formally established. If your current payment architecture suffers from an unfixable address mismatch or region conflict:

  1. Navigate directly to stripe.com and register an independent, brand-new merchant account utilizing your correct geographic country parameters.

  2. Disconnect your legacy mismatched account from WithMe using the clicking here footer workflow detailed above.

  3. Open your clean dashboard slate, select Connect Bank Account, and authenticating sign into your newly created matching Stripe merchant profile.
