Marketing 101: Why You Should Run a Post-Launch Giveaway

Keep the energy of your launch going beyond just the first few days and weeks.

Running a giveaway after launching your platform is a super way to keep the energy around the launch going, and see what percentage of your audience are interested in getting access to the platform for free.

We recommend launching the giveaway 2-3 days post launch.

Here’s how:

1] Post to your grid to announce your launch giveaway offering 1 follower 6 months to your programmer for free, the terms being to comment and tag 2 friends. Make sure to mention a closing date (we suggest running it for 7 days).

Example giveaway copy:

✨GIVEAWAY!✨ I am happy to announce that I will be offering one person a 6-month free subscription to my new online platform. Which includes (list what the platform includes).

1️⃣ Leave a comment below sharing why you'd love to join the programme, + tag a friend who would love it too!

2️⃣ Share this post on your stories.

The winner will be announced on the X of X So, GO GO GO... I can't wait to hear from you.

2] Share this as a series of 3-4 stories announcing the giveaway, explaining how it works and what the winner will receive [perhaps sharing snippets of the platform here too]. Make the last slide in the series the post that followers need to comment on in order to enter, making it really easy to do so.

3] Pin the giveaway post to the top of your feed so you can continue to refer to it throughout the week.

Once the giveaway is done

Once you’ve announced the winner you have a great opportunity to re-market to everyone who entered your competition. These people have virtually raised their hand and said ‘I’m interested in your platform!’ so don’t let this slip. We recommend directly reaching out to everyone who entered the giveaway with a special offer, so they can still try it out at a discounted rate. Compose a similar email to the below, and DM each of the entries.

Example post-giveaway outreach:

Hello x,

Thank you so much for entering my giveaway! The winner has been announced but I still want to make sure you can give my platform a go and try the many on-demand workouts and live classes I’ve got on offer.

I’ve just set up the code: GIVEAWAY30 to give you 30% off your first 6 months. The code expires in 5 days, so go go go! There’s a 7 day free trial too.
