✅ Community Launch Checklist: Everything to Set Up Before Going Live

You've built something amazing — now let's make sure everything is dialled in before your first members walk through the door! This pre-launch checklist covers every detail so your community feels polished, professional, and ready to wow from day one. 🚀

🏗️ 1. Structure & Content

First impressions matter! Before you hit publish, make sure your community has enough value waiting for members the moment they join.

  • Set up your community categories — organise your space into clear categories (e.g., Welcome, Resources, Q&A, Wins). This gives members an instant sense of where things live.

  • Seed your content — aim for at least 3–5 posts across your sections. Nobody wants to join an empty room! Share a welcome post, a quick-win resource, and a conversation starter.

  • Pin your community guidelines — place your rules and policies in a pinned post at the top of your main section so they're impossible to miss.

  • Create an onboarding flow — a welcome message or introductory post that tells new members exactly what to do first.

🎨 2. Branding & Mobile Optimisation

Your community should look and feel like you — on every device.

  • Upload your logo and banner — use high-resolution images. Your banner should be at least 1200×400px for crisp display on desktop and mobile.

  • Customise your colour scheme — match your brand colours across your app theme and landing page for a cohesive experience.

  • Preview on mobile — over half your members will likely visit on their phones. Open your community on a mobile browser and check that images aren't cropped awkwardly, text is readable, and buttons are easy to tap.

  • Customise your tabs — If you're using the app theme; use the app theme editor to rename and reorder tabs so the most important content is front and centre.

💳 3. Checkout & Payment Experience

A smooth checkout means more conversions and fewer support headaches. Testing takes just a few minutes — but ensures your audience has a smooth, polished experience from day one! 💡

  • Set up your landing page — make sure your sales page clearly explains what members get, the price, and a strong call-to-action. Keep it simple and benefit-driven.

  • Review your product description — if you offer multiple communities, ensure each one's benefits are clearly listed so buyers know exactly what they're getting.

  • Test your checkout flow end-to-end — go through the entire purchase process yourself. Check that pricing displays correctly, payment goes through, and members land in the right place after purchase(reduce the price of the community temporarily to something like $1 to test it in real life without having to pay your own self).

📧 4. Emails & Notifications

Don't let your members miss a thing! Setting up notifications properly keeps your community engaged and active.

  • Make sure your members never miss an update! Properly configured notifications help keep your community engaged and informed from day one.

  • Enable welcome emails — Ensure new members receive a confirmation email with clear instructions on how to access your community. (This can only be disabled if you're on the Marketing Hub plan.)

  • Review the welcome email template — Check the email your members will receive after joining and when new posts are published in your community. Make sure the message and links are clear.

  • Prepare your launch announcement — Draft the email or social media post you'll send to your audience on launch day. Be sure to include a direct link to join your community.

  • Test the member experience — Join your own product using an alternate email and go through the full member journey to see exactly what your members will experience.

🚀 5. Final Pre-Launch Checks

Almost there! Run through these final steps and you're good to go:

  1. ✅ All sections created and seeded with content

  2. ✅ Community guidelines pinned and visible

  3. ✅ Branding looks great on desktop and mobile

  4. ✅ Checkout tested — payment, access, and redirect all working

  5. ✅ Welcome email and notifications firing correctly

  6. ✅ Landing page live with a clear call-to-action

  7. ✅ Launch announcement drafted and scheduled

📝 Note:
Don't worry if everything isn't 100% perfect — you can always tweak and improve after launch. The most important thing is that your members can join, pay, and access your content without any hiccups!

You've got this! 🎉 Once you've checked everything off, you're ready to open the doors and welcome your community. If you need help with any of these steps, don't hesitate to reach out — we're here for you!
