How to Migrate Contacts from Another Platform to WithMe

Import your contacts into WithMe with a CSV file from your dashboard, and learn what moves over when you switch platforms.

Moving to WithMe from another platform? You can bring your contacts with you by uploading a CSV file in your dashboard. Here is how it works.

📥 How to import your contacts

Your CSV file needs one column of email addresses. If you are adding people to a lead capture, you can also include a name column. If your file is too large, you see an error telling you so.

  1. In your dashboard, go to Customers. On a phone, go to More > Customers.

  2. Select Add Customer.

  3. Choose Upload CSV. If you only want to add one person, choose Single email instead.

  4. Click Choose CSV file and pick your file.

  5. Choose where to add your contacts: one of your existing products, or your default lead list (Default Lead Capture).

  6. Tick the box to confirm the addresses belong to real people who agreed to receive emails from you.

  7. Click Check file to see what will happen before anything is added.

  8. Click Import to add them. The button shows how many people will be added.

🔍 Checking your file

When you click Check file, you see a preview of:

  • How many people will be added

  • How many already have an account

  • How many already have the product or are already invited (these are skipped)

  • How many addresses are invalid (these are skipped)

  • How many duplicates were removed

While the import runs, you can see its progress. When it finishes, you see how many people were added, invited, skipped or failed.

People marked as invited get access automatically once they sign up for an account.

Customers you add to a product are emailed to let them know they have access. People added only to a lead capture are handled differently and do not get the same access email.

⚠️ Limits to know about

  • If your CSV file is too large, you see an error telling you so.

  • Each upload has a maximum number of email addresses. If your file has more, you see an error showing how many it has and what the limit is.

  • There is a daily limit on how many customers you can add to products. If you reach it, the error tells you how many more you can add that day.

  • Some products can't be imported into with a CSV. If you try, you see an error saying so.

  • CSV import can't be used to gift direct messages.

✅ Only import people who said yes

Only import email addresses people gave you themselves. Bought, scraped, old or made-up addresses bounce, get marked as spam and damage your sending reputation. They can also get your email sending blocked.

  • Clean up an old list before you import it. Addresses go stale at roughly 2% a month, so a three-year-old list is largely gone.

  • If an address bounces, we stop mailing it automatically. Do not add it back by re-importing the same list.

Leads you import by CSV are marked as cold contacts. To learn what that means for emailing them, see Why some imported contacts can't be emailed yet.

📦 Moving your whole hub

If you pay yearly, a free migration of up to 10 GB is included. Paying monthly does not include it. Bigger libraries are quoted before any work starts, and nothing is paid unless you agree. Check your free migration at switch.withme.so/switch, no card needed.

Most hubs are ready 5 to 10 working days after the migration starts, and you get an update at each step. Your old site stays live until you approve your new hub.

A migration does not move card details or running subscriptions, email sequences and pipelines, landing and sales pages, community comments and history, quizzes, coupons, order bumps or payment plans. You rebuild those in WithMe, or buy Done For You.

💳 Paying members

When we migrate your hub, paying members are imported by name and email. They keep free access until their next billing date. You then send them a link to restart their subscription on WithMe.

Once your contacts are in, see How to Onboard Imported Contacts for help welcoming them to your hub.

If you get stuck, message us from the chat bubble and we will help.
