π·οΈ How Promo Codes & Coupons Work: Setup, Verification & Troubleshooting
Promo codes are one of the most powerful tools in your marketing toolkit! Whether you're running a flash sale, rewarding loyal fans, or collaborating with another creator β coupons let you offer discounts that drive sign-ups and boost conversions. Let's walk through everything you need to know π
π οΈ Creating a Promo Code
Setting up a new coupon is quick and easy:
Head to Promo Codes in your creator dashboard.
Click Create Promo Code.
Choose your discount type (percentage or fixed amount), set the value, and give your code a memorable name β like SUMMER20 or VIPFAN.
Set an optional expiry date and usage limit, then hit Save!
β οΈ Troubleshooting Common Coupon Issues
Things don't always go perfectly β here are the most common hiccups and how to handle them:
β Customer entered the wrong code
If a customer mistyped the code (e.g. typed SUMM3R20 instead of SUMMER20), the discount won't apply. Promo codes are case-insensitive but must be an exact character match. Ask the customer to double-check the code and try again β or share the correct code directly!
β° Code has expired or hit its limit
If you set an expiry date or maximum number of uses, the code will stop working once that threshold is reached. Check the code's settings on the Promo Codes page to confirm.
π° Discount not showing on payout
Your payouts reflect the actual amount the customer was charged. If a coupon gave them 20% off, your payout for that customer will be based on the discounted price β this is expected behaviour!
π‘ Pro Tip: If a customer missed the discount window, you can always create a new code just for them and send it over directly. Personal touch goes a long way! π
