Thinking of Canceling? Read This First π
We get it β life changes, businesses pivot, and sometimes your timing just isn't right. Before you cancel, this article explains exactly what will happen to your account, your members, and your data β and shares some alternatives that might fit your situation better.
If you'd rather talk it through, our team is always happy to help: friends@withme.com
What Happens to Your WithMe Account
When you cancel your WithMe subscription:
Your platform stays active until the end of your current billing period. You've already paid for that time β use it.
Once the billing period ends, your platform goes inactive. Your public storefront will no longer be accessible to new visitors.
Your account data is retained. If you come back, your products, community, and settings will be waiting for you β you won't start from scratch.
What Happens to Your Members
Your members' experience depends on how they're connected to you:
Members with active recurring subscriptions (paid via Stripe): Their Stripe subscription will be cancelled automatically. They will not be charged again after your cancellation date.
Access to your content: Once your platform goes inactive, members will lose access to gated content β courses, community posts, and any paid products hosted on WithMe.
One-time purchase customers: If a member paid once for a product (not a recurring subscription), they will also lose access when the platform goes inactive.
β οΈ If you have active paying members, we strongly recommend notifying them before you cancel β give them time to download anything they need or move to a new home.
Charges & Refunds
WithMe subscription fees are non-refundable for the current billing period once it has started. You can cancel at any time, but you won't receive a prorated refund for unused days.
Stripe transaction fees already processed for member payments cannot be reversed retroactively.
Think a charge was made in error? Email us at friends@withme.com with your account email and the transaction details and we'll investigate immediately.
Alternatives to Canceling
Cancellation is permanent for the billing period. These options might be a better fit:
βΈοΈ Pause Your Account
Not ready to commit right now but plan to come back? You may be able to pause your subscription rather than cancel it outright. Pausing keeps your data intact and avoids losing your member relationships.
Contact us at friends@withme.com to ask about pausing and whether it's available for your current plan.
β¬οΈ Downgrade Your Plan
If cost is the concern, you might not need to cancel β downgrading to a smaller plan keeps your platform active at a lower price point. Head to Settings β Billing to see your available plan options, or see Managing Your Account and Upgrading Your Plan.
π€ Try the Done For You Program
Feeling overwhelmed with setup or not sure how to grow? Our Done For You (DFY) team can take the heavy lifting off your plate β building your platform, products, and funnels for you. It might be exactly what you need to make WithMe work. Reach out to friends@withme.com to find out more.
How to Reactivate Your Account
Changed your mind after canceling? No problem. You can reactivate your WithMe subscription at any time:
Log back in to your WithMe account.
Go to Settings β Billing.
Select a plan and resubscribe.
Your previous products, community, and settings will be restored.
Note: If significant time has passed since cancellation, some data may no longer be recoverable. Reach out to support if you have concerns about data retention.
How to Cancel
If you've considered the alternatives and cancellation is still the right move, here's how:
Go to Settings β Billing in your WithMe dashboard.
Click Cancel Subscription.
Follow the prompts to confirm.
Your platform will remain active until the end of your current billing period. You'll receive a confirmation email once the cancellation is processed.
