πŸ’³ What to Expect: Stripe Billing Emails After Cancellation

Explains why you may receive Stripe payment reminders after cancelling your WithMe subscription, how they differ from marketing emails, and what steps to take to stop them.

Why Am I Still Getting Billing Emails?

After cancelling your subscription, you may still receive payment reminders or billing-related emails. These come from Stripe, our payment processor, not from WithMe directly.

This typically happens when a payment retry cycle was already in progress or a final invoice is being processed at the time of cancellation. These emails are automated and will usually stop once any outstanding billing activity is resolved.

Stripe Payment Reminders vs. Marketing Emails

These are two completely separate systems, and it is important to know the difference:

  • Marketing emails: Sent by WithMe. You can manage these from your email preferences in your account settings.

  • Stripe billing emails: Transactional payment reminders sent directly by Stripe. These are tied to your payment status and are not controlled by your WithMe email preferences.

Unsubscribing from WithMe marketing emails will not stop Stripe payment reminders.

How to recognize a Stripe billing email: These typically arrive from a sender associated with Stripe and reference an invoice or payment retry. They usually include details such as the amount due, the last four digits of your card, and a link to view or pay the invoice. The subject line often mentions a payment failure or upcoming retry. They will not contain WithMe marketing content or an unsubscribe link for marketing emails.

How to recognize a WithMe marketing email: By contrast, WithMe marketing emails come from a WithMe-branded sender, contain promotional content or product updates, and always include an unsubscribe link at the bottom.

How to Stop Post-Cancellation Billing Emails

  1. Verify your subscription is fully cancelled (see the next section).

  2. If your subscription is cancelled and you have no outstanding balance, Stripe reminders should stop on their own.

  3. If billing emails continue after your subscription has ended, contact WithMe support. Our team can review your Stripe billing status and resolve any remaining payment activity.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip: When contacting support, forward the billing email so the team can quickly identify the source and resolve it faster.

Verifying Your Subscription Is Cancelled

  1. Log in to your WithMe account.

  2. Navigate to your billing settings (typically found under Settings or Account).

  3. Confirm that your subscription status shows as cancelled or inactive.

If your subscription still appears active, the cancellation may not have fully processed. Reach out to support for assistance.
