💬 Why Isn't My Auto DM Link Showing as a Button?

Learn why some links in Auto DMs display as tappable buttons while others show as plain text.

💬 Why Isn't My Auto DM Link Showing as a Button?

If you've noticed that some links in your Auto DMs show up as a neat tappable button while others just sit there as plain text, this comes down to how the message is written. Auto DM links only reliably display as a button under certain conditions.

✅ When a Link Reliably Shows as a Button

A link is most likely to display as a tappable button when it's the only link in the message and the message itself is short.

🚫 What Breaks the Button Display

A few common things will cause your link to show as plain text instead of a button:

  1. Adding more than one link to the same DM. If your message includes two or more links, none of them will display as buttons, they'll all appear as plain text.

  2. Placing the link in the middle of a sentence. If the link is tucked in among other words rather than sitting on its own line, it will show as plain text.

  3. Writing a long message. Even if your link is on its own line, a lengthy message can stop it from displaying as a button, it will just show as plain text instead.

🛠️ How to Give Your Link the Best Chance of Showing as a Button

  1. Use only one link in your Auto DM message.

  2. Place the link on its own line, rather than mixing it into a sentence.

  3. Keep the overall message short.

Following these three guidelines gives your link the best chance of appearing as a tappable button rather than plain text.
