Using IG Stories to Promote Your Platform

Create story sequences to promote your platform.

Updated over a week ago

Selling your platform on your instagram shouldn’t just be saved for launch day or special discounts/events/promotions. Consistently reminding your followers that your platform is there, full of amazing content that’s ready and waiting for them is also really important. In addition, it means you’re not only talking about your offering when you’re running a promotion - this can risk coming off as “sell sell sell”, which in the long run can be off-putting. So, little and often is a good sales strategy.

When marketing your platform outside of any promotions, it can be helpful to break it down into 3 steps:

  1. Plan

  2. Create

  3. Schedule

We’ve broken these down below for you:

#1 - Plan

It’s important to be really clear on the messaging of your IG stories - and making a plan is always going to be a good way to do this. Content structure template here.

Think about:

  • everything your membership is offering

  • the value it will add to people’s lives if they join

  • the physical and/or mental results

#2 - Create

In order for people to sign up to memberships, they want to be really clear on what they’re signing up to and what their membership will offer them. Make sure you repeat the story of the product, and the ways they can get involved. For example 'New videos released every Monday and Wednesday'. Find phrases you can use time and time again.

Focus on a mix of exclusive content, community engagement, updates, features and monitor your analytics to refine your strategy throughout the month.

#3 - Schedule

Plan a couple of weeks in advance so you give yourself time to create any assets. Just be sure to continue sharing live, real-time content on your stories too.

Our IG story top tips:

  1. Once launched, we see the most effective promotion to drive views and members usually comes from stories that include your customised link. These are particularly effective when they are shared alongside a grid post/reel.

  2. Consecutive stories giving value and a great excuse to link to your platform - we recommend 6-8 stories a day with a series of dedicated to your platform. These could content updates, social proof/testimonials, and motivation.

  3. Post Q&A's and share the answers with a call to action (e.g "recipes here", "join the community", "see you on the mat" etc.) Posting around payday week is very effective.

  4. Remember to reintroduce yourself (and your platform) at least once a month for any of your new followers.
