Got a workbook, guide, or resource you want your members to download? Here's everything you need to know about setting up media downloads the right way.
📥 Enabling Downloads on Courses or Digital Products
Downloads can now be enabled directly from the product settings.
How to enable downloads
Go to your Creator Dashboard
Open the Course or Digital Product
Navigate to the Options tab in product settings
Enable the “Downloadable” option
Save your changes
Once enabled, all media inside that product becomes downloadable.
This includes:
Videos
PDFs
Audio files
Images
Live recordings
📝 Note:
Enabling downloads applies to the entire product, not individual lessons or files.
⚠️ Important: What Happens When Downloads Are Enabled
When the Downloadable option is turned on:
Members can download all media within the product
Downloads apply to every lesson and file in that course or digital product
If you only want certain files downloadable, use the Digital Product method below.
📦 Making a Single Membership Post Downloadable
Membership posts themselves do not support individual download settings. However, you can make a single resource downloadable using this workaround.
Step 1 — Create the Resource
Upload your lesson or file as you normally would inside your membership post.
Step 2 — Convert It Into a Digital Product
In the Options tab, enable "set a price for this content" to make it a digital product
Set a price (this is only required to create the product — it won’t actually be sold)
Toggle on the "Downloadable" setting and Keep the Digital Product in Draft mode
📝 Keeping it in Draft ensures it cannot be found or purchased publicly.
Step 3 — Link the Download in Your Post
Copy the sales page link of the digital product
Paste this link into your membership post description
Add a short instruction for members to download the file using that link
Example:
“Download the workbook here: [Link]”
Members can now access the post normally and download the resource using the private product link.

✔ Use Courses when you want structured content with optional downloads
✔ Use Digital Products for standalone downloadable files
✔ Use the Digital Product workaround if you want a single downloadable file inside memberships or course
💡 Tips for Downloads in Membership Posts
🗂️ Name your files clearly — your members will see the filename when they download, so make it descriptive (e.g. Week1-Workbook.pdf rather than document1.pdf)
🔒 PDFs in membership posts are members-only — only paying members with access to that post can download them
📦 Selling a PDF as a standalone product? That's handled through Digital Products, not membership posts — the download flow is slightly different there
